High-temperature solution nitriding is suitable for high-purity nitrogen gas as a nitriding medium, heated to the austenitization temperature of the material or workpiece (generally up to 1,100~1,250°C), nitrogen decomposes at high temperature to produce reactive nitrogen atoms, the reactive nitrogen atoms are adsorbed on the interface of the material or workpiece and form a nitrogen potential difference inside the matrix, due to the thermodynamic driving force of nitrogen atoms directional diffusion, forming a nitriding layer chemical heat treatment process.
Solution nitriding is a solid solution that forms nitrogen in the permeable layer area, and the solubility of nitrogen in the solid phase is much higher than that in the liquid state, so that the surface layer of the material or workpiece can quickly obtain a nitriding layer with no nitride precipitation and high nitrogen content.
Its function is to improve the strength and wear resistance of the surface layer of the material or workpiece, retain the toughness of the matrix, obtain excellent comprehensive mechanical properties, and improve corrosion resistance.
Compared with traditional nitriding, high-temperature solution nitriding uses nitrogen as a nitriding medium, reacts at high temperature, and has the characteristics of green environmental protection, pollution-free, high efficiency and energy saving.
