Titanium alloy plasma nitriding:
Titanium alloy ion nitriding is similar to steel ion nitriding, which decomposes and ionizes nitrogen-containing gases (such as ammonia, nitrogen, etc.) introduced into the ion nitriding furnace into nitrogen ions. Under the action of an electric field, the plasma surface treatment process accelerates the bombardment of the workpiece surface to form a nitriding layer.
The purpose is to effectively utilize the high specific strength characteristics of titanium alloys while obtaining high hardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance surface properties.

Advantages of titanium ion nitriding:
> In the process of nitrogen ion bombardment of the surface layer of titanium alloy, the formation of sputtering due to particle bombardment can effectively remove the oxide film on the surface of the workpiece, activate the surface, and effectively improve the production efficiency without additional activation steps.
> The bombardment of particles will form crystal defects on the surface of titanium alloy, such as vacancy and dislocation, which can effectively improve the formation efficiency of the nitriding layer.
> The required temperature of titanium alloy ion nitriding is lower than that of gas nitriding, generally between 700~900°C, which can better maintain the original toughness of the matrix structure.
> Titanium alloy ion nitriding can completely avoid the use of hydrogen-containing substances, without the need for activation such as ammonium chloride or acid, and use high-purity nitrogen and argon as process gases, avoiding the hidden danger of hydrogen embrittlement and effectively improving the comprehensive mechanical properties of post-infiltration workpieces.
